After parking, in private parking, between Lago Azul Eco Hotel and Aldeamento das Varandas do Lago ( the new excellent panoramic views of the river Zêzere.
We set off towards the Castelo de Bode Dam, famous for its flow and for collecting the water which supplies Lisbon. The dam is one of the largest artificial lakes in Europe with a length of 60 km. The dam allows for leisure and adrenaline.
We continue upstream and the fauna and flora of the Zêzere River follow us, observe the margins and slowly all its variety and beauty surprises us. We cross paths with small boats, rowing, canoes and even spot the adepts of faster sports and more adrenaline.
Further ahead the “famous” island of Lombo, we circle around and can enjoy the view from the bridge that connects the Beiras and that later can take you to places of simple beauty like Constância, Vila de Rei (the country’s geodesic center) or a visit to the Almourol Castle.
But, that’s later, we’ve just circled the island and we’re back, slowly, as if we were savoring the good things in life, feel the breeze, photograph in your memory this calmness that is lived around here.
These 3 hours in your company have passed quickly, but after having experienced it, we know we will see each other again soon.
